MikeT
can anyone advise me on the correct gap for my plugs as i am getting a slight stutter under max thottle and have been advised that the plug gap is to big? (plugs are NGK BKR6eP) Cheers Mike.....
tDR
Definately BKR6EP and not just BKR6E? If so, are these platinum? If you are running standard, these are fine but if you are running increased boost you will need BKR7E as these are 1 grade colder than standard plugs. Gap them at 0.9mm, that's if you're running increased boost, otherwise just check the gap is 1.1mm (what it should be set at for a standard car) Cheers, Brian. JohnA
I've got BKR7EIX running on standard gaps. Never missed a beat, and it has seen the shiny side of 20psi too.
MikeT
Hi john, the plugs i am using are plats, have dropped the gap to 0.7 and what an amazing difference, problem solved, Cheers, Mike
JohnA
True, platinums need smaller gaps. (But I'm not gonna go smaller than 1.1mm if I get no misfires.)

JohnA
Today I ran it a few times with no wastegate, curious to see what power it would register (bollox) Despite the ultra-high boost, not a single misfire, stock 1.1mm gaps here Bounced off the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd, not a single misfire. tDR
I think the relationship between spark plug gap and misfires is most likely linked to EGTs. Perhaps a single setup such as yours John has lower EGTs at a given RPM compared with Mike's (and I'm guessing here) stressed stock twin turbo setup. Cheers, Brian. JohnA
I've got stock twins too, although my EGTs wouldn't be skyhigh.
