Phil the fixer
I want to fit an auto fluid cooler while I have the front bodywork stripped down, I am fitting a Whifbitz nose cone and intend to fit the oil cooler behind one of the side air intakes. I really need advice from you technical guru's out there on the BBS to put me on the right track, Ive read as much as I can but still need to know more. I believe stacked plate type coolers are more efficient than the tube and fin design, therefore are they the ones to use? Setrab seem to be a quality well priced product that I beleive are more efficient than Mocal units, is this right and are there any others worth looking at? The units come in loads of sizes, how can I work out which one I need? Can auto fluid be to cool? If Setrab are OK is there a BBS person I can buy one from? I know this one has been looked at in past threads but they didnt seem to conclusive. I would be gratefull for any feedback Cheers Phil
Need4Speed
Can auto fluid be to cool? All fluids have an operating temperature range. What level of tune are you planning for your engine that makes you go this route?
Phil the fixer
Sorry should have mentioned, Im looking to increase power to about 450-500bhp, Im fitting an fmic together with top panel as part of the current works, relocating the power steering cooler to a side front air duct, installing apexi induction with custom made air box and ducting from front air duct. I will be installing a fluidline rad and remove the top air duct therefore will lose the rad cooling of the auto fluid. I hope this helps Cheers Phil
