TomWeight
So lately I've been getting a very slight sqeaking/creaking noise coming from what I believe to be either something in the engine bay (unlikely) or most likely the front left suspension. I just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced the same and found the cause? Hoping for some good news because my bank account is cowering in fear over what I believe is about to be a very expensive suspension repair lol
Dnk
Could be a number of things and we'll only be guessing at what it could be, when does it happen ? Does it alter with rpm ? if you rev the engine when stationary does it do it ? Or is it only when being driven ? does it change with speed ? going over bumps ? Scooter
As Dunk says you need to try and find out when it does it, and what you can do to make it worse/better as this might help at least eliminate some things.
Scooter
Worth giving the subframe bolts a torque check initially. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?35927-Knocking-and-creaking-suspension&highlight=subframe+creaking

No I tried that a couple of days ago, it's non-existent when stationary so it only occurs when moving. That's what's confusing me, it doesn't seem to worsen when going over bumps or when the suspension is under extra strain such as on particularly rough roads. I'm going to have it up on the ramps soon so I'll be able to check this among everything else, thanks
Dnk
If its definitely from the front and when your moving i'd be having a look at the front brakes first, perhaps you have a caliper starting to seize up Do you have the sliding carrier type ? Pete
I have this currently. Everything checked out - I've narrowed it down to the bump stop rubbing on the shaft.

Once torqued no more creak. I then checked the rest for safety and piece of mind
TomWeight
After all the help (much appreciated) turns out all it was was a slightly loose nut on the nearside headlight which hadn't been tightened all the way!

bayside_supra
I had exactly the same problem with mine, headlight but loose. I would have said if I'd seen this thread earlier
jot_ie
I have a jittery squeaking noise coming from the front too. Happens when the car is both stationary (idling) and when moving, especially on a rough surface. Checked what I could but couldn't find anything. I'm thinking engine mounts as its a facelift model. I believe the mounts have a tendency to fail.

Had this said to me about mine last time it was at Whiftbitz but it's more of a rumbling vibration than a squeaking but depends on how far gone it is

TomWeight
Bats. Ultrasonic hearing. As in ..how the eff did you locate that sound? Ha! I spent quite a while listening out for it! I knew it was near side front and when it wasn't the suspension the lights were my second attempt and got lucky.
