a98pmalcolm
Hey all. Ok as my battery, sub, amp, watermeth tank and washer bottle are in the boot its all getting cluttered and messy (mainly because of battery) So I'm considering making a fake boot floor. My sub is resting on the thin plastic sheet that normally is used to cover the space saver. My battery is strapped to the original floor were the spacer saver was with the OEM carpet and thin plastic cover cut out to allow the battery to fit. I'm happy to have everything else kept where it is except the battery. If I was to remove the boot foam on the right hand side (where to the tools normally go) and relocate my battery there out of the way, then have a MDF floor with stilts between the new MDF floor and original floor to support the sub (as the foam on the left supports the thin plastic spacer saver cover) and then use black acoustic carpet to wrap with. Has anyone done this before or have pics? This is my current state lol Thanks Paul
Al Massey
Yeah I have, less the battery..... for now anyway. I made a brace to go around my spare wheel. Then made MDF panels, 3 in total. This was so I could access the centre part just for the wheel, or either left and right sides for all my tools. I actually created more space doing this so I can carry more tools and parts. Al Massey
It's just roof flashing from B&Q used for a bit of sound proofing. Used it all over the back bench area too.
ShawnPreece
I used MDF as a platform for my batteries in the boot with clamps on top then hide them under lids... Here is a pic showing the basic structure I used... Here's the end result so I got handles (spanner handles ) to lift the lids... One of the batteries hiding under this lid... The other battery along with the washer bottle under this lid... Then the water/meth tank along with isolator switches for the 2 batteries under the big lid in the centre with the space saver wheel still under the carpet... These are the best photos I have of it on my phone but batteries are nice and secure aswell as enclosed. Its not to everyone's taste but was my way of hiding them away
