Please help identify this coolant pipe.

Had the car stored away for the winter and was just away to pick it up, when I found a coolant pipe has been chewed thru...ate thru the metal in the pipe too.

Looked at the online parts catalog but can't identify the pipe, not sure if it's GTE specific.

It's below the EGR...any idea how hard it would be to replace it?

yes that's the egr system.... only came on the uk spec supras. finding those bits may be difficult... well the metal part anyway...

the black rubber pipe you can get anywhere, just cut to length...iirc that's a water hose and goes to the icv.

you can get a egr block off plates which deletes all that metal work.... about £25 from arnout

Thanks Keron, I did suspect it went to the throttle body area.

Can someone do me a HUGE favor and measure the thickness on that hose?:search:

I don't have the car with me but I'm thinking of doing a fix tomorrow, so if someone can post the diameter of that rubber hose by tonight I'll be very regretful.

There is talk of bypassing/blocking off this coolant pipe so that might be a temporary option?

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?253211-Water-bypass-on-the-ICV-amp-Throttle-Body

Also I recently replace the two small coolant pipes on the front of the first turbo, they come off the aluminium elbow by the water pump, one on top of the other. If these are the same size as your split one then it's 10mm (3/8") Internal diameter (i'm away from my car else I'd check for you. (I'm 99% sure the metal tubes that go around the back of the engine from the turbo's to the ICV are the same size so 10mm should be what you need)

Thanks! 3/8 is perfect I have some scraps of 3/8 tube, just picked up a set of jubilee clips, one of them is bound to fit the hose.

Once I get the sizes I can get a decent set of straights and t bolts.

I know not getting coolant to the ICV is not a HUGE issue, as I thought about doing that to my MR2 one time but I just wanna keep the MK4 stock.

Thanks:thumbs:
