Wez
If it is the igniter, I'd use the opportunity to ditch it the oem coils and igniter and fit GM LQ9 coilpacks (built in igniter on each coilpack, replacements cheaper than Toyota coilscoils) Not seen them, nice solution and looks like PHR do mounting brackets too

Will definitely be upgrading the coil system at some point though - - - Updated - - - Anything else apart from the pump been changed? Nothing else from my end mate. Just the pump. mellonman
Check that all your plugs spark, super sparks are known to fail I had a set only lasted a few years until giving missfire issues. Do you have a fpr with gauge you would be able to tell you have fuel preasure, I know you said the plugs smelt of fuel but were they wet? Posible the impella of the fuel pump has come away not flowing fuel correctly Edited April 5, 2017 by mellonman (see edit history)
Wez
Nothing else from my end mate. Just the pump. A Walbro 450, where did you source it and what was the reason for swapping out the 044?
Supra-love
A Walbro 450, where did you source it and what was the reason for swapping out the 044? The 040 Bosch was causing fuel cuts and very very noisy. I got the walhbro 450 from fuel performance online.

Posible the impella of the fuel pump has come away not flowing fuel correctly Still waiting on the ignitor so I can check that. If that doesn't work I will check each spark plug for sparks. I don't have a fuel gauge, I use the syvecs toucan for the gauges not sure it has a fuel presure one? I'm new to everything ATM.
mellonman
Hang on a minute , just see the post about the fuel pump you have changed ? all the walbro 400+ have to have the 12v relay mod to work they cant run on the 9v supply from the stock fuel pump ecu. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?272714-12v-mod-will-this-work http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?272695-cutting-out-after-fitting-walbro-400/page2 Edited April 5, 2017 by mellonman (see edit history)
Supra-love
Well I must be odiotic, or having some moments in old age. Basically I checked so much before I checked the fuel pump. Left it till last cause plugs were wet and getting fuel. But, I pulled the fuel pump out and low and behold a pipe had blown off from the pressure, refitted and life arose again.. Chris Bailey
Good news! At least it was a simple fix.
Supra-love
Exactly easy fix, even though I went through so much before hand. Total twit... should've been the first thing I checked tbh..

Chris Wilson
People fitting aftermarket fuel systems should consider adding a Schrader valve to the fuel rail to allow an external mechanical gauge to be "plugged in" for diagnostics and tuning. A lot of current cars have them for easy attachment of a gauge. j_jza80
I'm assuming that the Syvecs would have flashed up a fuel pressure warning if of a fuel pressure sensor was fitted?
Supra-love
I'm assuming that the Syvecs would have flashed up a fuel pressure warning if of a fuel pressure sensor was fitted? Apparently not, lee and Ryan.g didn't mention anything after I sent the logs.. Saying that my syvecs and firmware is well outdated now, by like 5years, needs a major update. Wez
Check in SCAL if you have a fuel pressure reading, from memory, add a gauge, fp1, trace and about 10hz should be enough. Or you can physically check if one is plumbed and wired in.
