Glover
Hi, does anyone know what this button is for, doesn't do anything and it's driving me insane! Thanks
j_jza80
It looks to be some sort of immobiliser key receiver.
Glover
Ah thanks. It's strange that you can press the buttons on both sides and it doesn't do anything though?
j_jza80
It may not be wired in now. Given the age of these cars, it's not unusual to find the remains of several immobilizer or alarm systems behind the dash.
Al Massey
That's for the Clifford alarm system. Usually used for black jax and entering codes

Must be disabled if you haven't had to use them

Must be disabled if you haven't had to use them No necessarily. It's for setting up the clifford alarm, or sticking it into valet mode, or switching off aspescts of it. Does the OP have to press a button on the key fob to be able to start the car? Do you know if it has a clifford immobiliser and alarm?

He means the Blackjax feature must be disabled if you have not had to enter a code.

Yeah I know it's a Clifford alarm and immobiliser system so I'll have a look into it then. There is no button I know of on the key fob for starting the car, in fact only one button works on the fob for locking and unlocking it. I'll grab a manual online and see if I can figure out what's, what. Cheers guys ☺
Al Massey
So you have a Clifford alarm and immobiliser? Remote start is done usually by pressing two buttons in succession, but only works after it has been activated when the engine is running.

Al Massey
It should be on a sticker in the pack if you have it
Glover
I've only got the certificate and there isn't a pin on it. But I've read online the the pin can be the 4 digit code in the middle of the serial code. I'm going to try this.
