Rattle in inlet side cam cover baffle...?

Evening chaps, I've removed my cam covers this week to clean them up, paint and fit new gaskets etc

Went to to re fit this afternoon and heard a rattle in the baffle of the inlet cam cover. Is this considered normal or is there something in there that I need to get out?

I've shaken it around loads and whatever is rattling will not fall out by just shaking. Thanks.

The PCV valve that sits in the rubber grommet has a very lightly spring loaded ball valve in it. It will, and should, rattle if shaken. If it;s not the valve someone may have changed it, or the grommet, and a piece of the old hardened rubber grommet dropped inside. I wouldn't worry about it.

What you must NEVER do is have them bead or sand blasted and not fully remove the baffling to clean out the blast media that will have got inside. Otherwise you can expect engine failure as it goes walk about.

That attachment has a metal piece in it with a one way valve that might rattle? You could hold it by it and you may feel the rattle through it?

Thanks guys, just checked and the rattle does indeed sound like it's around the valve/nipple on the side. I haven't removed the baffle an i definitely haven't dropped anything and got it stuck in there so yeah i think it will be fine.

Thought it was better to be safe rather than sorry though, thanks.
