JackyBoi
Hope its not too bad. If you get an option for a course do it. You can book your course yourself (from a selection) and there are also courses later in the evening. I had to do it a couple of years ago and went after work. Not sure if its still the same. Yeah that. No matter how old you are/how clean your license is I think it's daft taking points IF you're offered a course. A friend of mine has just received 6 points after being caught with an illegal tyre almost 3 months ago; he already has 3 points and if he didn't do the course back in 2016 he'd now have 12 thus lose his license. Just saying!

I thought the penalty for an ilegal tyre was 3 points with a max fine of up to £2500, this is per tyre https://www.gov.uk/penalty-points-endorsements/endorsement-codes-and-penalty-points
Tourniquet
I had a letter through about 18 months ago when 'I' got caught in an average speed check area. I replied to it using a template basically saying it's a shared car, here is the name and address of 6 people who could have been driving it all that time ago, and said that I couldn't possibly just pin it on somebody to satisfy their request without knowing for sure because that would be entrapment. I also said although it's my duty to know who's driving my car, I said I do know day to day, but everybody has said there was no flash or anything significant to make this particular day stand out from any other. The police sent me the exact same paperwork asking for all the exact same details again which I ignored and a while later I got a letter saying it wasn't in their interest to pursue the crime any further - shweet

BOB B
I think that the offer of a course is if you are cought from 31 to 36 and had a clean licence for a certain period of time (i.e. 6 years or something).
