jazz1
I was a bit upset, but on the positive note I had followed Simons work and wish I had saved the extra to use Simon! I guess things work out for a positive note! The more I saw this build (Jay SRD) the more I was impressed; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?279989-Jay_NW-SRD-3-4L-HKS-T62-Build On the plus side the build spec started to change slightly, we had decided to re-fresh the underside for new parts, I had always dreamed about how I would love my supra leaving Toyota from factory, the perfect supra in my eyes. Lee sent me more updates, I will leave these drooling pictures below, I personally think every big supra build requires a clean underside as well as the exterior. I have seen over the years lovely looking supra builds with neglected rusty underside! All new OEM underside parts, exclusively supplied by SRD 12th March 2015:cool:. jazz1
Simon had payed me a visit to view the car and we discussed a complete full respray internal/external plus engine, complete overhaul on the whole car. This also gave me time to save, giving me a time scale from march 2015 to when the car would go into SRD than Auto Body Solutions towards the end of 2015. The plan was to; 1. Engine bay smoothing/flush. 2. Complete respray. 3. De-badge, flush aerial, rear wiper etc. 4. Under seal. 5. Body kit fitment. In the meantime Lee kept me updated in May 2015 when my car could come in according to the other projects plus working with Simon on a time scale, great communication as I was very happy . jazz1
This point I had decided when meeting Simon, we had discussed a similar smooth engine bay as Jay. Uzzy had received his car back from SRD in May 2015. This stage I was desperate for a ride considering I had purchased the same turbo kit, watched tons of videos on YouTube. We met up around May and I was astonished, his car pulled great and the sound was mind blowing, during the passenger ride Uzzy had mentioned some amazing builds at SRD, HUGE turbo builds compared to his tiny HKS T04Z. We had than parked up, whilst Uzzy went to the gents I was left looking at his engine bay! My heart had sunk, the turbo looked TINY! I tried to convince my self the turbo was HUGE, to be honest it is a good size turbo, but considering my plans changed with the engine bay smoothing the T04Z had to be sold! Here's some pictures of the turbo on Uzzy car; Thread; http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?321027-Going-Single-at-SRD UzzyUzzy T04Z supra build by SRD. jazz1
On the 27th May 2015 I contacted Lee to discuss changing the turbo and potentially selling the whole HKS T04Z Kit. We discussed few options and the HKS T04Z kit would make max 700bhp, considering I had enclosed in my build package was a complete built engine. The second option was the GT42, Lee mentioned it would be a lot different to drive. The last option would have been the precision 6870, considering it's new in the market with great performance figures and Phil had just purchased the same turbo for his SRD build. Luckily a local member had just bought the precision 6870 and had that fitted to his car. Nice enough forum spirit, he allowed me to pay him a visit. This was the ideal turbo for my build spec, plus the turbo had the presence for my engine bay . I watched few nice YouTube videos, my mind was complete. Lee managed to sell the HKS T04Z kit luckily to a guy from Italy, which than made it possible for Lee to order the precision kit he sells, plus few upgrades had to be done; Precision 6870 Turbo kit S6 plus Injectors Alternator Fan kit Side shafts for diff Fuel pump ETS 5" intercooler. Etc. We were now aiming for the SRD-1000BHP build Pictures of the Precision 6870 on a members car on here. jazz1
Right, just to recap people's memory on my car, which was ruined by a previous body shop. I initially went with a T04Z turbo kit and built engine alongside few other parts with SRD, to have my car built single turbo 700BHP. This plan failed due to the below........ March 2015 the previous body shop failed to complete my car. Lee mentioned Simon a forum member, "Baldy" which people would recommend for a complete respray. I took my car back from the previous body shop in march 2015 with several respray faults, as they failed to complete my WHOLE car for when it was scheduled to go into SRD for a single build capable of running 700BHP on the T04Z kit plus built engine etc. This than delayed my whole project with SRD. Now in April 2015 i met Simon to discuss a full respray on the car from scratch. We also planned to do an engine bay smooth like Jays car built by SRD. A member named Uzzy Uzzy local to me also went single with a T04Z kit with SRD. I met up with Uzzy Uzzy in May 2015 when he just received his complete project. I disliked the T04Z and decided to sell that turbo kit via SRD, which than provided way for the new precision 6870 turbo kit and we decided on more power, 1000BHP plus . Lee the owner of SRD kept me in full swing with communication. Considering the project plans changed, Lee worked a time schedule with Simon according to his existing clients and time scale for when my car would go into SRD and than to Simon for a full respray. The plans were roughly end of 2015 when my car would go into SRD . Edited July 12, 2017 by jazz1 (see edit history)
jazz1
In the meantime I decided on new parts for my build, I sold all my facelift headlights and replaced them with new ones, alongside seals, handbrake, seatbelt, new genuine Do Luck front, etc. Klips bought my headlights, who kindly payed me a visit on 18th June 2015 with his lovely supra . jazz1
The time had arrived finally, 23rd November 2015 SRD had arranged a tow company to pick my car up, great customer service . I then followed my car down to SRD, the long wait had finally started to take place. jazz1
On the 17th December 2015, Lee sent me pictures of my car fully stripped, great communication and customer service, judging by the pictures you can see my car was genuine low mileage since 1997, the year the car was within the family .
