Coolant drain plug, o-ring?

Recommended Posts

As a matter of routine service I want to drain coolant and refill.

I see there's a block drain plug. However if I touch it I presume there is a chance of a leak afterwards.

Is there an o-ring on it? Anyone got the size/spec or point me at part no, presume I'd only get the Toyota part from local Toyota garage?

2JZ-GTE TT 96 pre-vvti

Thanks!

I didn't touch that drain plug, just drop the bottom rad hose off and pop the stat out, if its an old stat i'd be replacing it for what they cost.

What state is the coolant in ? it would pay to flush the system through before re filling, heater matrix tend to slowly fill with crud

Ahah good idea, sounds simpler and less hassle.

Coolant /system seems great, no issues. But for anti-corrosion I'd like to replace the coolant fluid. Got the Toyota Red for it, I know some people prefer others but I've literally never had any trouble with it.
