Dave
Just go for a drive and see the attention the supra gets ,I was in the petrol station and four lads in the car behind jumped out and asked if they could get selfies with the supra ,people slow down on the m way to take pics ,everyone flashes there lights etc etc ,you don't get this in a gtr rx7 scooby ,makes me feel good driving it . Jellybean
Friend of mine has an RS6 and an S8, in fact you might remember him from DB, Pedro!! Well it's always broken, something always needs fixing and it is VERY expensive when it goes wrong which it does often. He couldn't believe on DB the amount of power some cars were running and the fact the guys had been pushing the cars around Europe and driving back home. In his words if he did that on the RS6 by the end of it something would give way. Also I left him drive my Supra and he said that he could feel everything, even down to the road surface changing. Both his Audi's the drive was numb, speed was quick but he didn't feel the same sensation as he did in the Supra even though his RS6 was much faster. My mate is big into his Audi's , for a modern car I could not believe the cost to remove the Engine, Cat sensor goes (Think most have 3-4) , engine out, timing chain and tensioners on some RS models are pront to go , engine out , you name it engine out ; it costs close to 20K to JUST remove the engine, they do sound fantastic with some Miltek's OE has to engineer them like this on purpose to get you on maintenance One of the other guys got a Maserati Quattroporte 2002 /04 model , full service 10K ! 10K!!!!! Brake discs , pads , oil , plugs Supra is inexpensive in comparison, I remember CW mentioning the OE dual mass flywheel is on par with the Maserati but half the price
supra_aero
I dunno I have both. In isolation I always felt Rx7 is better looking but when I park them next to each other I d say a kitted supra is better looking in the right colour. And I d say I have best colours for both cars. Just my opinion. Again Rx7 pops and flames and is great to drive. Nothing else like it. But supra with blitz exhaust is incredible even as a na. I get friends to drive supra and rx7 in convoy. Supra gets more attention in the convoy. Driven on their own rx7 gets way more attention. I could buy something else I suppose but the truth is I stopped caring about cars last few years I moved into other hobbies.

I no its not a 'supra' but seems from reading the posts a lot of people drive them just to get looked at by bald men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if its about the attention surely there are better cars out there ..... Then thought let me check them out and that is when I learned about it is an engine out job to changing the timing chain. Had a look around and I think the article below put it best, that originally Audi engineers thought it was supposed to last the life time of the car but clearly not when you had Audi serviced engines failing from the 50k mark! German engineering is not what people make it out to be, I got a VW Touareg and wished I picked up something like a Toyota Landcruiser. https://redlinespeedworx.com/audi-v8-timing-chain-service-real-story/

rider
In isolation I always felt Rx7 is better looking . I had a yearning for a RX7 when they first came out. Took my wifes car along to a Mazda dealership as a trade in option which was a scruffy Escort we were going to be offloading anyway. Quiet Sunday morning only me there with one sales guy, dealership just opening. I was peering through a blue RX7 window when he came over still tieing his tie. To quote him, "is that your car out front" err yes *well go and move it round the back". I moved it all the way off the property and never did buy a new RX7. Instead went for a nearly new Mk3 manual Supra Turbo and ended up trading the Escort in at another Mazda garage for a new 323 for the missus. So if that salesman hadn't been such a stupid ass he could have sold one or two new cars and I could be now owning a MX5 rather than a TT6 Supra because the RX7 would have died years ago.. Check out the cost of a clutch replacement if you want to find another thing to weep over. Audis are great as company cars but mine isnt so the first clutch slip I feel and its hitting the sales ads. ianhid
For me, the Supra was cheaper, faster, and better looking than anything else I could find. I still can't think of another rear wheel drive car for less than £15k that I'd rather have. I don't fit in RX7's, so that's that problem solved . Style
Put it this way, if I was looking to buy a supra now like I was 6 years ago I wouldn't have even considered it with the prices nowadays.
The Raven
Add me to someone that couldnt, wouldnt buy one now. Prices are mental compared to when i got mine 8 years back

I can't think of anything less than £70k that I'd rather have to be honest and I've looked a lot. The lc500 looks nice but may as well see how the new supra turns out (if they make one)
k222bye
I had a Renault Clio before i got the Supra lol. But anyway i was washing it when i bought it on the drive and i was so confused, people stopped their cars on the side to take pictures, kids coming to the car to talk to me about it, all in all i was asked 7 times by people for pictures. Was out there the whole day detailing lol. But it just has that something about it. And i agree with many points u made about it being dated in certain areas. But for the money i can't think of a better more reliable platform. Just my 2 cents

JasonR24
The RC-F carbon is definitely something I'd have over a Supra. It's not as good looking though and a small single is faster so for £70k it's really not worth it IMO
Scooter
When you think about it, maybe it was prices 8 years ago that were mental; as in cheap. To a point I agree but also lots of peoples opinions was that the Mkiv would go the same way as the Mkiii and depreciate to almost nothing, or stagnant at the then prices not one person I know stock plied these cars not even our resident traders like Keron or Whitbitz who might have been more in the know. There are old threads where very few believe in a price rise, I think economic conditions (zero interest rates) started a new car boom and now the general mood is completely different in that the belief is prices are only going one way. Right now they are, 3 years ago they weren't, who knows what will happen in 5 years.
Scooter
It's not as good looking though and a small single is faster so for £70k it's really not worth it IMO At the lower price range and in the (very) used market I have a silver RZ auto, these seem to be nudging up towards £10K and ISF's are coming down to £14K, to me that seems very attractive. The ISF has nearly 10 years on has no inherent flaws so seems well made, has a stock TT beaten all ends up i'd imagine?
j_jza80
When you think about it, maybe it was prices 8 years ago that were mental; as in cheap. This. I know of people who bought clean, factory jspec tt6 cars for under £6k when the market bottomed out. That was ridiculous for how good these cars are.
