matt johnson
Can find the BHP figure easily, which seems to quoted as around 225 but can't find the Torque figure. Anyone help me out?

matt johnson
yeah thats great, thanks I went to a rolling road day and the car made 227.4BHP and 183.4lbft torque Torque seems a bit down, umm whats up i wonder? Also only 7 extra bhp when its decatted and has apexi induction pipe and filter and enlarged/sports down pipes, somethings not quite right i feel
Guest chiefvinso
I dont think normally aspirated cars make much more bhp decatted and some pink like crazy unless you start to modify ecu's.
matt johnson
torques down by a good 25lbft, what could be up with that?
Guest chiefvinso
Could be the fuelling - any signs of pinking under load. I'm not claiming to be right on this but you have the air flowing more freely and I assume you are on standard ecu. Maybe try running on higher octane fuel? matt johnson
the bhp graph is pretty good but the torque graph is spikey and has a few low spots, a large one just before 5k but between 3k and 5k it looks low anyways
letmeshowyou
torque reduction could be that you've actually reduced back pressure too much with all thats been done...
matt johnson
i wouldn't say i can hear any pinking, but possibly feels like the car surges a little. I'm guessing the ecu is standard the car is how i bought it and i run it on 97 octane fuel and had octane booster in when Rolling roaded. I've done no mods to it, just have receipts for what has been. Do you think it would be worth get it checked over with a good jap specialist? Digsy
torque reduction could be that you've actually reduced back pressure too much with all thats been done... Yep. Reducing exhaust back pressure is a great way of sodding up your low to mid-range torque.
letmeshowyou
i really do suspect not enough back pressure - how big are these downpipes and what is the rest of the exhaust?
matt johnson
its got a hks hi power muffler back box, looks fairly large bore 3.5"ish all the rest of the way. Not really sure on the front pipes, i've got a receipt saying hyper front pipes from hyper sports and racing.
matt johnson
just had a look at the front pipe and well its obvioulsy there to remove the front cat i take it. Coming from back box direction in goes from the same 3.5" and vees off into 2 maybe 2" pipes up to the manifold
