Guest Marek300zx
Hi. I wonder if there are catalysts that can be used for motor power 800-1000HP?
ibby
Probably, but will need to be wide though pipe
daniel4781
Interesting question.! Not quite sure tbh.! I know there are a couple that are rated around ~16000 LPM (578CFM).. (i've not seen any datasheets on these, so it's hard to verify what they rate the airflow from. It could be max flow or the flow needed for a decent conversion rate. ) As far as i'm aware what you need to know when buying is how dense the washcoat is (cpft) and the cell density(cpsi). (Also what catalyst's and the ratio of them).. A metallic is preferred (metal monolith upper temp ~1500C instead of ceramic ~800C). Then depending on the volumetric efficiency of your application, the composition of H20, O2, CO2, CO, NOx, N2 and the temperature of the exhaust gas you could do a estimate on how many of those you would need. ^^ haha, a bunch of Y pipes and several catalytic converters! No, seriously! Anyone who has knowledge on this topic? I fear i might need to dive into this soon as well.
