Frank Bullitt
Why not just pop them off the car, have them shot blasted and repainted in 202 Black or Powder Coated Black if that is your thing

zap
Silly question but how do you just pop them off? They seem to be on a tapered spline which means they will require some sort of levering?

They seem to be on a tapered spline which means they will require some sort of levering? I think you need a wiper arm removal tool, I tried just undoing the nut and tweaking mine (I think I'm one spline out on the passenger side - it sticks up above the bonnet line) but fully wedged on.....I think I bought a cheapo tool but it have enough clearance to work. They pop straight off easy

That's what I thought, I tried to get mine off some while back but was concerned about damaging the bonnet. I want to remove mine to paint them and also get the plastic cover underneath them powder coated, as its started to dull off a bit.
