paul mac
in defence of the stock "sub" i was quite surprised at the reasonable amount of bass the stock sound system delivered when i first got the car, when i took the stock sub out i realised why, its all to do with the labrynth design and the volume in the sub enclosure that enhances the bass that a small speaker can deliver, the door speakers have something similar but not quite as big, i fitted an 8" sub and chopped the shit out of the standard one to lighten it, once you hack into one you realise what a work of art they are, i do like the idea of mounting an 8" in the old sub space post some pics up when you get it done

Scoboblio
Nope, not yet I've got 101 things to do on the car and this is about number 80 I managed to find a thread on supraforums that showed 3 JL 6" subs in the standard enclosure space so there's definately room available there. Soonto_HAS_soop
I built my boot install into it, to allow me extra box volume, was a little tricky with the angles and the like, but it fits in there nice and snug now. Only thing is, what with a new strut bar I have, in order to get my box out, I have to remove the back section of the rear seats. Looks nice though.... Soonto_HAS_soop
You can't see it in the photo, but believe me that my box uses that space. And yes it could do with a clean as I just removed my dirty golf clubs.....
Terminator
Thanks :thumbs:Ben that is very helpful. I think I will use my nice little plastic sub box to make a template for my own box.

ChrisSZ
No enclosure on non-sub fitted cars I have just about finished fitting a set of 8" subs into the rear quarter panels in place of the stock crap :) All done now - just need to work out how to re-fit the grills:)
