ChrisMK4
Hi guys, having my Supra for 2 years already I just now noticed a button in my dashboard, please see the pictures below. I could not figure out yet what it is doing. Has anyone seen this guy before or has an idea what it might be there for? I do not think it is stock. It is connected to three cables which dissapear somewhere behind the dash, I was not able to follow them very far yet. Thanks for your suggestions! rider
I have a switch just like that on the chip fryer. If you were in the UK I'd say it's got to be fog lights switch on a jspec import. As you are in Germany presumably you have a Euro but the pics look like a rhd jspec dash panel. So lets stick to its the fog light switch. ChrisMK4
And the right anser was: Rear foglight switch. Thanks guys! But now I found other mysterious buttons and a lamp, see attached picture below. As I found out the cables of both the button (to me it looks like there is a fan on one of the buttons) and the lamp are disconnected. Now let my bring out alle the English grammar skills I have: What may the button and the lamp have been used for? BTW: Especially on the AT Supras they might have named the "SLIP CONT OFF" button "BURNOUT" button as well because I see no other situation exept a burnout to use this button
Al Massey
The buttons on the left and the lamp on the right are for an alarm system. The buttons look very similar to the Clifford alarm set up.
stevie_b
I got an MOT advisory because the light on my button didn't work Surprised that wasn't an MOT failure. The MOT mandates a switch that lights up.
rider
You can buy a replacement cheaply - with a working light. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/282347461890?lpid=122&chn=ps&adgroupid=42305674521&rlsatarget=pla-278515759189&adtype=pla&poi=&googleloc=1007072&device=c&campaignid=738081070&crdt=
