R34 gtr

Hey guys, been a long time since I have posted here, as I'v lived abroad for the past two years my Supra has sat at home collecting dust for two years. I just haven't really been able to get excited about my Supra as even insurance won't look at me :/

Well anyway that is besides the point of this thread.

I have been considering the R34 GTR for quiet a while, it's another legend like the Supra, some think it even more so with its predecssors previous success in racing.

Does it handle as well or better than the Supra?, how does it feel to drive.

I would love to own one, the Supra and Skyline go so well together to have both would be amasing.

Any Skyline owners here or Ex Skyline owners.

My Supra is completly stock 99 RZ TT6

And if I buy an R34 GTR I'd want it stock too.

Thanks for any insight

Everything I've heard online and from people I know who've owned them suggests they feel absolutely exceptional to drive. Can't really say the same about Supras if we're being honest (as good as they may be).

For everything we love about the Supra, the R34 does it better except reliability and top-end potential tuning.

The R34 GTR's are great, there's no doubt about that. They don't drive as well as the R32 though IMO, which feels more involving and raw. I'd much rather have a well tuned single turbo R32 GTR and £15k for running it than an R34.

The R32 is the one with motorsport pedigree too.

I had a choice between a single turbo Supra and a stock(ish) R34 GTR when I was 25, chose the Supra which was undoubtedly a much better car for the money.

I did have a chance of another 34 around 5 years ago. A yellow one at a local auction, mostly stock and seemed pretty straight except for a little rust. Went for just over £18k, would be worth double that now :D

Another car to consider would be an NSX, which I'd take over an R34.

Thanks for the insight. The R32 did tempt me for a while too, but for me having the pair, the MKIV Supra and R34 would be perfect. The two go so well together. The R32 and R33 look a bit dated on the inside. Actually the smoother shape of the R33, is closer in styling to the Supra than the R34.

The cheapness of the 32 and 33, is also highly tempting. But I fear you might regret not holding out abit longer for the 34

I bet you think back to that yellow GTR now?

The R33 interior is genuinely horrible. The R32 interior is very basic, but it somewhat adds to the purity of it. The r34 is undoubtedly the looker, but I've always been more concerned with how a car drives than how it looks, and the pared back nature of the R32 is much more my thing.

I wouldn't swap my Supra for any GTR though (okay, a Z Tune or a Hakosuka might tempt me :D ) even the R34 feels cheap compared to the 'hewn from granite' build quality of the Supra.

Ah so you would find a R34 to feel on the cheap side compared to a Supra? I always kind of got that impression.

The Supra does spoil us, its classy elegant full of power, and simple but quiet luxurious interior too.

I have never seen a GTR in the flesh to see its interior quality mind.

I would never trade my Supra for one either, I don't think I could find one as good as mine again.
