Looking at making a jump from generic laptops around £500 to a more capable Gaming/higher end laptop at around £1500 what are you lot using?

Are there no girls up your way Matt. I know you live in the sticks but there must be a few larger ones that hang outside Greggs :-)

I'm going to be getting a fangbook later this year. Can get them from cyberpower. Sure there's a forum.member that was or has a company that build pc''s maybe able to help you out with smething.

I have a fang book, great little laptop, do not get the slimline (the edge) ones though as the cooling isn't good enough. I needed a cooling pad while gaming as it got really hot because I got a slim one. I advised my brother to get the bigger one and it's brilliant as there's enough room for air flow

No quality females in the Crook area Andrew you should know that.

Saying that I'm rarely around nowadays.

It's sad as I'm more than competent at building PCs but it's still a bit of dirty concept trying to build a laptop.

It's because getting the parts to build a laptop is so damn difficult. I tried and just getting parts was impossible. Your budget will get you a really decent gaming laptop as long as you don't buy from Ripoff terrible brands like Alienware

Yeah I wouldn't want slim because of air flow. I too looked at building my own, getting a frame made etc but turned out it would have been as big as a normal desktop as I was going to.build it using desktop parts haha as like you've said getting laptop components is expensive as well as difficult.

For that money you really should be getting a 1060 card. That's why I'd never buy from msi or Alienware or any companies like that

Haha, I'd never spend that kind of money on a laptop unless I was rich :p personally I'm not a fan of gaming laptops and prefer computers x1000, but then I have a very biased reason as to why (hint: never ever buy pre-built gaming laptops!)

I have a gaming a laptop and it's been just as good as any desktop I've had but the added benefit of being portal and doesn't take up a lot of space. I spent £1000 over 2 years ago and it's still playing new games on maximum settings, although I don't game that much anymore :)

 what are you running on them :D

fuck all, he hasnt got time for games but likes wasting money LOL

A lad from work has the MSI laptop, spent £2300 on it. Personally I would always go down the desktop route for gaming rigs, you get better bang for buck.

Matt what you playing?

Holy shit Ric that's a monster....

If I'm honest I just traded up my xbox one for an xbox one-s and a Samsung 65 curved 4k tv which I'm more than happy with.

I do much prefer console gaming as Its easier to get into a game than start up a pc and muck about fine tuning bits.

However I needed a new laptop so I got this to take advantage of the Xbox anywhere function I will more than likely get my hands on a Xbox Scorpio at the end of the year.

Games wise I have most of the latest releases but battlefield one is not included in play anywhere and I wont be buying it twice.
