What power do you need them to hold and what use will the car get? Do you know your wheel size as that will give more options than just the tyre size. Guessing 8.5 front and 9.5 rear?

I'd go 245/40/18 front and stay 275/35/18 rear, unless you don't like the ride. These are both about 5mm more in radius than stock 17's. Some seem to say go a 40 profile at the back too but this would be 20mm radius (ride height) increase compared to the 5mm front, unless you go 45 profile at the front but then the tyres can start looking a tad tractor like!?

 

To be fair most won't tell the difference but I like to keep things close to stock.
