Alternator wiring

As standard i know the Alternator runs to the fuse box (120 amp fuse) and the fuse box receives its power direct from the battery

I have my battery and fuse box in the boot but would like to get rid of the 2 small alternator wires that run all the way to the fuse box and replace with a new larger single wire

Currently the battery has a 150amp circuit breaker, then to a distribution which feeds to the starter and fuse box

Since my system is already protected by the breaker at the battery can i just run a wire from the starter to the alternator and bypass the stock feeds running to the fusebox?

Or will the alternator still need its own individual breaker/fuse?

My options are

1. Run new single wire direct to fuse box and use stock alternator fuse (trickier as stock wires also have 2 headlight wires tapped off them inside the fusebox)

2. Run new single wire to its own dedicated breaker in the boot

3. Run new single wire from starter (utilising the 150amp breaker currently protecting at the battery end)

Any idea on the best option?
