Grahamc's GTR at Invisible Touch Detailing

Hi,

Here we have Grahamc's Nissan GTR in for a stage 1 paint enhancement plus engine bay. The car is certainly no garage queen. Despite being lovingly maintained, Graham is a firm believer of the car being used and he also attends regular track days. With that in mind and the time of year i wasn't surprised to see this when Graham arrived.

So the car was given a good jetwash and snow foam. All door, boot, external rubbers and fuel shut were cleaned with APC. Wheels cleaned with Bilberry and tyres degreased with APC. The car was then washed via 2 bucket method using tar and glue remover on the lower sides, front and back. It was then clayed for some time to remove any bonded contamination, as expected there was lots!

Lots of paint thickness readings taken.

I proceeded with a stage 1 machine polish, with the Makita rotary and Meguiars product range. Taping up all rubbers and plastics to protect them and some tape being used to demonstrate the 50/50 shots.

Moving round to the rear of the car. You will notice the black staining on the paint above the exhausts on previous images, very common with a modified car burning lots of fuel. All removed with machine polishing.

And continuing down the passenger side.

Once all polishing and a wipe down with Isopropanol was done, i applied some Lime Prime Lite to further cleanse the paint. The interior was hoovered, dusted, glass cleaned inside and out and all plastics/leather cleaned with APC. Tyres were dressed with 2 applications of Meguiars gel. Exhausts were cleaned, they are meant to be black! Any exterior rubbers and plastics treated with Bumper Care gel. I then went around the car touching in several stone chips from the track days before applying Collinite to protect the paintwork. During the initial wash stage the engine bay was also cleaned. All rubbers and plastics were treated with Aerospace 303 and left to cure overnight.

These were the final pictures. Unfortunately nothing outside as it was pitch black once completed and Graham arrived.

Looks like I'm only about 70 miles away Bobbeh :)

Not too far away from where I work (Staines :( sigh ).. but I just know that by the time I'd get the car home and it'd be a mess again ;) Especially this time of year.. even when I leave it outside for 5 mins I'm miffed at the dust on it - I think I have OCD :D The joys of black cars eh ;)

Maybe a traffic free 3 am run would be whats needed! ;)
