CV rewrite services, any good?

I got offered this when I posted mine on Jobsite.. I think if you're desperate or illiterate it might help, otherwise I dont think its worth it. I was lead to believe they use a whole host of methods to help match the databases find you easier... but I think any decent recruiter/headhunter can read between the lines regardless and thats what most IT companies use these days.

All staff have been TUPE'd but moving forward out of the 4 staff they are making 3 positions available. This process has already been carried out in the States and the main players who moved to the new company have already jumped ship which doesn't fill me with confidence. So, I have brushed up my CV which I have not needed for 28 years but I am aware that what verbage will have moved forward in that time.

I have run it through the free advice sites and would you believe it that they all poked holes in different areas

Greetings,

So, IT is being outsourced where i currently work and obviously there is a chance of the chop.

Has anyone used one of these services and did you reap benefits from it?

I have - great investment - became an associate director in a bank at 28 then senior manager by 30 largely because of it. Massively rocketed my career. More than just the amazing cv, good agencies will QUANTIFY your value and make you realise you are worth so much more than what your manager/past companies have led you to believe.

Citycv is the one I use and recommend my friends. Owner of company worked in HR for Goldman sachs - most over subscribed investment bank in the world. And she was the one who did recruitment there.

CV she made for me was phenomenal and I am not getting paid for this just saying what she did for me. This was years ago mind, no idea if the quality of her work is as good as she may be far more removed from it now as was fair while back.
