ben_harmer32
Had a search around but can't find the answer I'm looking for. Possibly a dumb question but i'll risk it. I have read up on the NA-t conversion and see you have to drill the sump for the oil return. Is it not possible to use a TT sump that already has an oil return, or are these not interchangeable between the 2 engines?
Mike2JZ
You can use a TT upper sump no problem. Fits both ways, arguable more effort to do it this way rather than just drilling your current but whatever floats your boat.

Mike2JZ
I'd rather spend 5-10 minutes drilling a sump and tapping the threads, rather then dropping my upper sump which is easiest to do when engine is out the car. Then removing old FIPG, installing new FIPG, torquing bolts to spec blah blah blah Doesn't really matter either way though.

Engine will be out anyway as building an NA-t engine to drop in at a later date. I would remove the sump either way even if I was going to tap it, i was just wandering if it would save me from messing up the drilling to just use a TT sump if I found a cheap second hand one Thank you very much for the help! The drilling part is very easy I wouldn't worry, just make sure you have no swarf that falls into your bottom end.
