Car has died, could use some advice

If your crank damper isn't spinning round fast enough, your alternator won't charge anything.

You need to test the pulley to make sure it's not broken.

Because if it is and you spent all that money on a new alternator and fit, it will all be for nowt

Anything I should look out for? I did the old tipex thing and spotted nothing. I did hear a faint squeaking coming from the engine bay but it's hard to tell exactly where from as I'm nearly deaf in one ear.

Just put a line across the front of the pulley. Turned the car on and off a few times, revved it up a few times. The lines still matched up however the pulley itself doesn't look like it's in the greatest shape, but im unsure if it's bad enough to be an issue although I'm probably wrong. I'll go get some pictures.

Getting no output form the alternator. Suppose it's a better outcome than the crank pulley being the issue. It's also got some corrosion on it which is probably from when a coolant hose leaked onto it a few months back.

Hopefully it won't be too much of a pain to remove.
