supra_ufo
http://www.photographybynaz.co.uk/Supra/OCUK-FOGGY-SUPRA.jpg 1993 Supra Twin Turbo Aero-Top Auto in Daytona Violet Cat C - 2001 Miles displayed: 109,000 (unsure when it was converted, ill look back at MOTs) MOT: May 2017 Service: Owned the car since December 2012, Prior to my ownership there is no history documented, however the car was my uncles who had owned it for the best part of 10 years, his brother owned the car prior to that for at least 3 years. The history starts with me and has been documented in the following thread (I have tons of receipts in a folder) http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?282635-Project-UFO-!-Restoration-after-over-7-years-of-neglect I have highlighted major service components or failed and replaced parts below: Battery replaced in December 2012 All rubbers and water and radiator hoses replaced when I purchased the car 2012/2013 (Post #17 on the project thread) Turbo Refurbed in 2013 – work carried out by myself and friends, tons of receipts for new parts like gaskets etc (Post #18 on the project thread) Full UK Brake upgrade including full refurb on breaks and new fluid (April 2015 #196) Cam cover seal replaced when cam covers were painted – Oct 2015 (#261) Cam seals replaced 2016 #348 Throttle body gaskets replaced – Feb 2016 #318 #319 Heater Matrix replaced including pipes (Post #65) New water pump fitted (by previous owner) All fluid changed with Toyota Red 4life coolant 2013 Oil changes using Fuchs Titan (April 2015 #200) Power Steering Coolant changed (Aug 2014 #88) Timing Belt & Crank Pulley replaced in 2014 with non Gen part (#88) which failed in 2016 and replaced with a genuine crank pulley (April 2016 #348) Previous Owners: 5 (including me) Car Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire Engine: Whifbitz Carbon Spark Plug Cover Whifbitz Carbon ABS LID Whifbitz Carbon Fuse cover Custom Carbon Radiator cover Custom Carbon Engine Bay box TRD style strut painted in gloss black Top Side Intercooler pipes finished in Gloss Black Turbo pipes painted in gloss black Crinkle painted Cam Covers, Throttle Body, water kneck and various other parts Neo chrome washers all around Liquid Art Supra Logo on TB Gas strut bonnet holders Good Bits: Engine bay looks great with some very expensive carbon parts under the hood. Bad Bits: Idler pulley making some noise but I have another that should resolve that problem. In some lights you can see where the scoop was cut out and joined on, including the rivots (being very picky here as no one notices it) Performance: Full double decatted 3" Exhaust with 1.1 Bar restrictor ring and Nur Spec R cat back (comes with bung) HKS Induction Kit with Mushroom (purple) cone HKS SSQ BOV welded into 3” intake intercooler pipe work (hand painted black) Front Mount Intercooler, 2.5” pipe work on hot side and 3” on the cold side (miklor clamps used all around) Power Steering 10 ROW cooler Autogearbox 10 ROW Cooler Walbro 255 Fuel pump (no documented evidence of install but Iky can confirm) Greddy OLED Boost controller Rebuilt JSpec turbos with steel internals by CR Turbo (costing £800) Recently Dynoed at RS Tuning – 399.7BHP Fly wheel & 430lbs @ 1.28BAR (turbo is good to 1.4BAR), got a respectable 13.8 seconds ¼ mile time at santa pod. That was the first and only run with full interior, passenger and stuff in the boot. Wheels/Tyres: 19” Japan Racing JR11 wheels Fronts 9.5” ET35 with a 10MM spacer (used longer studs) – 245 / 35 / 19 Eagle F1 Rears 9.5 ET25 – 265 / 30 / 19 Good Year Eagle F1 Drift Works Neo Chrome Wheel nuts Good Bits: Looks amazing on the car and a real talking subject for people, only had them on for a year. Tyres have around ___MM Bad Bits: Driver side kerbed around 45% of the rim, Driver side rear kerbed around 5%, Passenger side rear kerbed slightly Exterior: Painted in BMW Daytona Violet in 2014/2015 which is a stunning colour when the sun hits Aftermarket TRD Spoiler with Carbon Blade Custom Carbon Fibre wing mirror covers Factory GZ Skirts RMM Front Lip (Polyurethane) Rear lower bumper spoiler blended into the bumper Custom bonnet scoop from the starlet turbo with option to add / change scoops Rear wiper and Ariel delete Zun Sport Grill with custom Likwid Art Supra Logo Custom LED day time running lights with indictor New UK Glass head lights with 4k HID Kit Wind screen cowel sprayed in gloss black, wiper blades The black plastic around the windows has also been painted gloss black Private Number plate L9 UFO (might want to keep that) Good Bits: Beautiful colour and a real head turner, had a 3 stage polish and gtechniqued at a cost of £500, meaning it does not need to be waxed for 24 months (12 months in). Water literally rolls off. Bad Bits: The black window surrounds have reacted leaving an almost finger print type finish on them. I got too close to the bonnet with my jet wash and as a result peeled off some paint, this was repaired by a friend but does “stick out”. Bonnet scoop has dropped but only noticeable in certain lights and angles, you are also able to see the rivots, again being very picky here. Front end shows signs of chips (I actually drive the car but gets garaged every night). Roof has some minor dents in it. Rear lip has started the crack by the exhaust pipe. Front lip driver side is scraped slightly and in some other areas. Some minor hair line scratches here and there. The window seals were not replaced when it was resprayed especially on the rear it looks tired but it’s not leaking. Roof leaks but not badly, hopefully will be buying a seal to resolve this issue. Suspension / Brakes: BC Racing Coilovers – Fully adjustable (inc tools) Fully refurbed UK Callipers painted in the same colour as the car (seals replaced, pistons refurbed etc) Bolts for brakes also replaced (I have invoices etc) Good bits: Brakes look awesome and perform very well. The car handles very well; I have it at the stiffest setting Interior Factory leather interior Defi Controller and Gauges, including Boost, Oil Temp, Water Temp Aftermarket Oil Pressure. Rare leather 3 Gauge A pillar pod Hydrodipped Dash Panels in a carbon effect SRD speaker mounts with focal speakers front and rear Custom 10” Sub in the rear seat with AMP Face lift original black carpet Sony BT Double Din Stereo Heckler LED converted heater controls and Speed cluster Leather sun visor covers Heater control buttons replaced with OEM new. Good Bits: Always a talking point for people, the hydro dipped dash works well with the theme. Very clean look inside with nothing sticking out. The defi gauges and the A pillar attracts the right sort of attention. Stereo makes the car more modern and when you want some base the 10” custom install I made does the nice job of thumping you in the back Bad bits: driver side leather seats showing signs of wear, the motor has stopped working so currently cannot adjust it. The double din stereo is a faceoff type, and for some reason after installing it, I took the face off once but now it appears to be stuck and won’t eject, not really a major issue. Whoever can get that stereo out KUDOS to them LOL 10” sub is currently popped after pumping some major tunes lol hopefully I should be able to replace this before a sale takes place. Heckler LED, the heater dials have an issue now and again where the light comes in and out. I already sent this back to Heckler to resolve but seem to be an issue again. A Pillar gauge holder was red and I dyed it black, the sun side has starting to show up red but I will get this dyed again. Misc: Clifford Concept 300 with Auto windows and Proximity chirp Good Bits: Does the job, chirps away when people get close. I have a spare key that starts the car as long as the IMMobo is disarmed. See below. Bad Bits: I only have 1 fob that is programmed, I do have another fob but it needs to be programmed. Summary If you want a well looked after car that has some serious money spent on it and looks the part as well as goes the part then this is the car for you. As mentioned in the post above, the car is a category C write off in 2001, don’t let this put you off…As far as I am aware it was a side impact and some light front damage. All body panels are straight and the car drives fine, that door was replaced when I had the car resprayed and there is a slight wind noise so may need some adjustment. The last GZ Aero went for £17k, I don’t expect that with this as it’s a registered cat C so want to know what it’s worth. The reason for potential sale Buying a house Additional: I have a roll of brand new leather which I can supply at slightly extra cost (need the exact metres) this can be used to fully redo the interior or the seats. marbleapple
Surprised you're thinking of selling? No idea as to value I'm afraid. I value things too early. I will say though that your ad is probably too honest. Most people won't comment on some of the things you flag as issues.

Well I was over the number of words limit so I made the why you are selling section short !LOL Basically I was going to sell it to fund a house but we managed to get a big enough deposit. The only reason for sale is I want something sporty but more of a daily, thinking of an Evo 9. I don't feel like you can jump in the supra and just drive it, me personally I get concerned when I park it places. Most of the time I don't take it out because I don't like parking it in town or somewhere LOL I want to do a Europe trip in the car before I even consider selling it so for now its just a whats it worth to folk. I was very honest in the ad yes but I want to draw to peoples attention everything I don't like about it as the majority is me being very very picky with it, as you said probably wont even be on peoples radar. It's listed as free which is in my budget, so go on then I'll have it LOL

j_jza80
Tough one to value mate. Stunning car the cat C will put some people off, but if you can show where the repairs been and that it's been done to a good standard, that will help. Personally I would get the bumper and bonnet done, the seats can be done DIY with a kit from Furniture Clinic, or they can do the work if you don't feel confident doing it. I'd also get the seat fixed, for the sake of £50 and a few hours. I reckon you could ask £13,500 with the work done, even with the cat C. I'd If you want a hand with the stereo feel free to pop over at some point and I'll give it a go, I'm pretty good with stuff like that Your picture will definitely help with your advert, make sure when you do it that it's just as descriptive as this post. The Raven
It's a stunning car the only question is what it's cat c does to the price. Mine is a converted na aero and I wouldn't let it go for less than 12k
Hitbox Junkie
8-12k being it's cat c it's. Going to effect the price and people interested in buying it. It shouldn't but it will. I wouldn't let it go for less than 15.
blythmrk
Cat C or D is normally 2/3rds the value when repaired I am always unsure about the value of mods against a std car as most modified cars get broken for spares as they are worth more as parts. I have a cat D 12 plate vw caravelle edition 25 (180bhp dsg) as my daily driver which i bought damaged but bought it as a keeper so not really bothered about the resale value my wife's fabia green line is also cat D too (again bought damaged) I previously have owned and sold vehicles on the v car and as long as they are cheap enough they sell pretty easily, pretty much free motoring in my experiences but people are very particular at the more specialist/high end of the market. The problem with the catted vehicles is getting insured as many insurance companies now refuse to insure catted vehicles and if wrote off/stolen etc. again a much lower price is paid out than a straight vehicle, I have also had non fault accidents in catted vehicles and they have been repaired and nothing said. I hope the above clears some unanswered questions.
rider
Back in 2001 the car would have been worth around £12k so the damage must have been substantial to be, then, an insurance write off. That will, as it always does, have an appreciable impact upon a cars value. The absence of history prior to 2012 could put some off but if you have to old MOTs that's always a good sign the cars been catered to reasonably well throughout its life. On the door wind noise I had the same problem with the seal leaking at speeds over 65mph when my door was replaced after a car decided to park in the door. If the shut lines are good its the seal that needs sorted. I took a heat source (heat gun) to the sealing strip and plumped it up in the top corner and down the vertical length. Had to do it a few times but it settled to a good seal again. Its always difficult to price Aeros as they are so few and far between. Probably comes down to how many people are looking and that's probably going to be quite a few more come May onwards.
