UK Front Brakes: Fully refurbed with new OEM discs & Porterfield Fast Road Pads

Hi all

I recently purchased a front set of AP Racing Calipers and will shortly be purchasing new discs etc to fit under my CCW wheels in spring. That's the key bit, they "should" fit but I am testing them properly when I collect this Thursday to make sure. If all goes well my full UK Front Brake Setup will be for sale.

I undertook a full refurbishment of the front brakes only in April 2016.

Firstly, all of the pistons, old boots and seals were removed and then the entire caliper surface was sanded down and thoroughly cleaned out before the refurb began. This comprised of brand new piston seals, rubber boots and the c-clips. All of the pistons were carefully inspected and meticulously cleaned up using fine wet and dry paper and plenty of brake cleaner so they were perfectly smooth and without marring. Glanza_Mike helped me get these up to a spanking standard. Two of the pistons were actually replaced with new due to some pitting which I wasn't happy with. The bores were fully cleaned too and then regreased with brake fluid.

I then proceeded to paint each of the Calipers using the excellent Foliatec Carbon Grey brake paint giving them 3 good coats for coverage and a couple of coats of lacquer. New Supra decals were applied, the bores cleaned again with brake cleaner, pistons thinly coated in brake fluid and carefully replaced with all the new boots, seals etc and then the Calipers were fitted back on to the car. Chris Wilson stainless steel pad retaining pins were then used too.

Brand new OEM UK front discs were fitted alongside Porterfield Fast Road Pads as per here:

The entire setup has only covered a maximum of 700 miles I would say, mainly to SRD and back after all the turbo, fuelling etc upgrades I had done in July and a few other spirited drives in the car. Everything is still as fresh as a daisy.

All new the full kit would cost just under £1,000 with standard discs and OEM pads.

I am looking for £600 which I feel is reasonable for a complete front U.K. setup which is practically new. I'll also include a set of OEM front pads which were on there before I fitted the Porterfields and these have plenty of life left in them too, should you want to swap back.

Collection only please from Birmingham/Solihull. I won't be able to remove these until early February when my new discs arrive so please bear this in mind. On this basis I will accept a holding deposit too of £50 :)

Thanks

Greg

Thanks Shawn, appreciate that mate.

They were a Ballache to do as you well know Mike, but alas they are still used calipers with new parts. It's a 1/3 off the new price and I'm a nice guy too :)

Please note these are now sold to X13mgr subject to my AP Racing Brakes passing the fitment test tomorrow! Cheers all.

Great buy! I have full set that are needing refurbed. Got all the parts for it! Fancy it sheefa? ;):p

I've done these and those Lexus ones now. They take some time but once you're on a roll it's fine. PM me if you want me to do them :)
