Alfie
So currently have my car stripped out going to try sort a few bits out , Can anyone recommend a good speaker setup and what type of bracket for the fronts everyone has found good ? I was looking at TB Developments front speaker adapter to fit 4" and also some JBL Gto speakers ?
marbleapple
SRD make speaker bracket and sell focal speakers to fit (6.5, 17cm). I've used their stuff before and would recommend them.

Alfie
Okay cool and that adapts the front to fit a 6.5? I'm not trying to go too over the top blasting music out I just want a really decent quality sound no vibrations and distorts Also forgetting to mention it has a sub/amp in the boot and I have a very nice pioneer stereo I don't want to go silly and spend loads just looking for ideas off people Edited December 19, 2016 by Alfie (see edit history)

Alfie
I think around the £200 mark for the adapters and 4 speakers would be good , need well known quality speakers
ben_harmer32
I took the BOSE system out of my audi I was breaking. Great system
ibby
You won't get sq speakers for 200 not for 4. Maybe cheapness of jbl gtos would be ideal ?
CarlM
The JL Audio TR range fits your budget I'm looking at getting some for mine, I think the prices have dropped on them recently too 6 1/2" Components up front http://caraudiosecurity.com/tr650-csi-16-5cm-component-speakers 6 1/2" Coaxial for the back http://caraudiosecurity.com/tr650-cxi-16-5cm-speakers
Jellybean
Based on your budget , I would get 2 nice 16.5cm Front speakers , sound deadening (Silent Coat, cheaper than Dynamat) and the MDF brackets Rear speakers are not as important , at a later stage get some cheaper 35-50 gbp Alpine Type E in Halfprds for the rear I find these guys always cheaper than the larger companies http://www.roadradio.com/car-audio/speakers/ These guys in Italy , I just took delivery of my Alpine double din off them , fast delivery and I could not get a better price, plus selection of accessories was fantastic , and website layout is very easy to navigate https://www.rgsound.it/coassiali/coassiali-165mm/ I am using the Focal PC165 in the front as they have a tweeter built in (coaxial speaker) as opposed to having a component setup and drilling the door card , to get at the OEM Tweeters you would need to remove the dash Looks like a good price at 88 GBP : http://www.roadradio.com/Focal/PC165/ Brands I would look at JL Audio Alpine Focal Rockford Fosgate Kicker Edited December 20, 2016 by Jellybean (see edit history)

I lost nearly all of the bass when I changed to the brackets, you'll be suprised how much bas those front pods kick out with just 4" speakers. Jellybean
Thanks, looks great Which thickness do you go for? For the boot Silent Coat Extra (4mm thick) , under the carpet 2mm as it is a tight fit with the carpet as is or even Silent Coat Plus if you want 4mm in areas that suffer from bad noise or vibrations, wheel arches , boot floor , transmission tunnel 2mm should be fine for most area's Did a new BMW mini , something on the list for the Supra

All my OEM speakers has torn away from the chassis so I fitted SRD speaker brackets and alpine 17cm SXE speakers and the same happened to me, no bass at all. The broken speakers sounded better. Does anyone have any front speaker pods as I threw mine away long ago?
