So currently have my car stripped out going to try sort a few bits out ,

Can anyone recommend a good speaker setup and what type of bracket for the fronts everyone has found good ?

I was looking at TB Developments front speaker adapter to fit 4" and also some JBL Gto speakers ?

Okay cool and that adapts the front to fit a 6.5? I'm not trying to go too over the top blasting music out I just want a really decent quality sound no vibrations and distorts

Also forgetting to mention it has a sub/amp in the boot and I have a very nice pioneer stereo

I don't want to go silly and spend loads just looking for ideas off people

Based on your budget , I would get 2 nice 16.5cm Front speakers , sound deadening (Silent Coat, cheaper than Dynamat) and the MDF brackets

Rear speakers are not as important , at a later stage get some cheaper 35-50 gbp Alpine Type E in Halfprds for the rear

I find these guys always cheaper than the larger companies

http://www.roadradio.com/car-audio/speakers/

These guys in Italy , I just took delivery of my Alpine double din off them , fast delivery and I could not get a better price, plus selection of accessories was fantastic , and website layout is very easy to navigate

https://www.rgsound.it/coassiali/coassiali-165mm/

I am using the Focal PC165 in the front as they have a tweeter built in (coaxial speaker) as opposed to having a component setup and drilling the door card , to get at the OEM Tweeters you would need to remove the dash

Looks like a good price at 88 GBP : http://www.roadradio.com/Focal/PC165/

Brands I would look at

JL Audio

Alpine

Focal

Rockford Fosgate

Kicker

Jellybean, where did you get your Silent Coat from?

I'm guessing you've done your research, would you recommend it?

I need to get some sound deadening [emoji4]

Thanks

Carl

I'm going to remove my front speakers brackets and 6.5" speakers, and go back to my front pods with TB Developments 4" adapter rings. I lost nearly all of the bass when I changed to the brackets, you'll be suprised how much bas those front pods kick out with just 4" speakers.

Ohh , see and this is why I need people's opinions first , also offer a little plate to increase the base and hella lot cheaper than other brackets

Yep the plate will improve it also, personally that's the option I'd go for, and replace your rear speakers with new while you're at it :)

This is what I did, much better now IMO.

Thanks, looks great

Which thickness do you go for?

For the boot Silent Coat Extra (4mm thick) , under the carpet 2mm as it is a tight fit with the carpet as is or even Silent Coat Plus if you want

4mm in areas that suffer from bad noise or vibrations, wheel arches , boot floor , transmission tunnel

2mm should be fine for most area's

Did a new BMW mini , something on the list for the Supra

All my OEM speakers has torn away from the chassis so I fitted SRD speaker brackets and alpine 17cm SXE speakers and the same happened to me, no bass at all. The broken speakers sounded better.

Does anyone have any front speaker pods as I threw mine away long ago?
