SupraLEDrears
Before I splash the cash, I've changed the powersteering pump a while back thinking it was that, then replaced the pulley and bearing on the tensioner arm but the noise is still there and getting worse everyday. This is a fully rebuilt engine and the problem was there before.
Mike2JZ
Take the belt off and see if the noise persists. If it doesn't then you know it's something on the aux belt. From there you can take a long screwdriver or oscilloscope and put it on the different auxiliaries and listen to see where noise is coming from. Tipp ex test done too on crank pulley
Mike2JZ
No noise without belt. Tipp ex test done too on crank pulley Put a long screwdriver on the aux tensioner whilst car is running and I bet you can hear that clicking very clearly through it

I blessed the ac pulley with some copperslip and the noise is gone for now. I wonder if it can be replaced.

The pulley can be changed, bit of a hassle as there are some C clips holding it on but not impossible.

Chris Wilson
Spray the belt with water whilst running. if the noise stops change the belt for a different make. Some belts are just noisy, don't ask me why... Some alloy pulleys cause belt noise, too.
evinX
Changing the pulley and bearing wont make a difference really, the spring inside the arm is probably shot. Get a long screw driver and put it on the arm, and the other end on your ear. The noise will be pronounced and you will be able to hear the noise through the screw driver in time with that clicking. Happened to me, My belt was shiney to, another indication that the tensioner was shot. Replace the whole thing mate. SupraLEDrears
Spray the belt with water whilst running. if the noise stops change the belt for a different make. Some belts are just noisy, don't ask me why... Some alloy pulleys cause belt noise, too. I wish I saw this before changing everything else. It turned out that when spraying any of the pulleys with WD40, it would unknowingly drip onto the belt, thus making it silent. I feel so stupid still but it did sound like a bearing. Bought a belt from Toyota and it's sweet as a nut. At least 80% of my pulley bearings are new now:d
