Problems..again

Sorry if you've already read these but didn't get much feedback in the General discussion forum.

1. Noisy/rattling tailgate - how can you fix this?

2. Its got a Greddy boost gauge with the white wiring plug into the back of it but gives a faulty/jumpy reading. Is the gauge knackered or something else - where's the best place to get a new one?

3. It had a TRD speedo when i bought it, but a km/h scale on it, the garage put a converter in to change to mph but i'd like a uk spec dial that goes upto 180mph instead.

4. Uprated tailgate struts?? Aftermarket rear spoiler and it falls on my head when i'm trying to put the two (maybe three) tesco shopping bags in the boot!

5. When i was driving the car back from inverness on sunday i stopped for petrol at perth, got back on the motorway and 5th + 6th gears weren't working, it just wouldn't engage into gear -anyone ever heard of this before?

6. Replacement brake pads all round - whats best, just cheap pads or good ones, bearing in mind discs don't need replacing just now.

Cheers

Jonny

1) New boot rubbers from Toyota about £10 total. Bitch too change though.

2,3,4,5) Don't know

6) Toyota Stock pads are as good as any, at the end off the day you have a high performance car thats gonna need stopping so I would avoid using cheap pads. If you do use cheap pads then eventually you will need new discs.

Hi Jonny,

No 6 - Porterfield pads or a set of Chris Wilson's are better than stock IMO.

You should be able to read all about ppl's experiences with various pads......the search button is very good. ;)

I'm running CW road pads, S/S hoses and DOT 5.1 and this made a big difference when using stock discs.

I do have UK spec brakes!
