phil.g.
Hi all, I'm looking at fitting a temp gauge on my 95 non turbo (the 2jz with the Y inlet over the engine) but where can I put the temp sensor? Thanks for any replies, Phil.
Big Mark
What temp are you trying to measure?

fastcar
In the top rad hose is the usual place
phil.g.
By cutting the pipe and fitting one of them alloy pipes with a sensor hole in? Is there no other way of tapping in to the engine?
Jellybean
Use the Whifbitz top rad alloy hose , had a 1/8 NTP female already welded in ; it will replace the top hose completely
Mike2JZ
Or if you have an aftermarket radiator or automatic rad, some have a small port located on them that is used for a stock temp sensor which that can be used for an aftermarket water temp and saves you needing to run an ugly hose adapter. Chris Wilson
Water temp SHOULD be measured in the head casting so if the thing gets low on, or runs out of water the sensor then sees the head casting temp itself shooting up. In the top hose or the rad when water loss occurs it will read cool.... Not what you want!
