Guest Cillian
Hi guys, I have a seized caliper and finding a replacement is proving difficult, so im looking into the ls400 conversion, the car i found has the chassis code UCF20R and its a 99 model, will this still work with my J spec? I've done the search already and can only get one thread on this model type. Thanks for any help.
Shane
Mine came from a ucf20, not sure about the R though. Presume its the fronts you are talking about, pretty sure the rears don't fit. I'll ask for some pics of the calipers, i pressume they would fit but wanted to check on here if anyone has used them before.
Guest Cillian
Want to update this thread as i couldn't find the answer on here before. The "R" bit stands for Right Hand drive, I've just fitted the front setup today with no issues.
j_jza80
Let us know how you find them. it's becoming a popular conversion, nice brakes for what they cost.
Sheefa
They're great brakes and a lot lighter than Uk spec. I refurbed a front set recently and sold for £150 with new seals and paint etc. Bargain for what they can do.

I bought the full setup off a friend, but i have only fitted the fronts so far. Pads are pretty shot and discs aren't great either to be fair but so far so good! I had a seized caliper so they had to be changed, pedal travel is a little more (might need more bleeding) but they fact they are lighter and made from aluminium is a big plus. I'll be swapping out the pads as soon as i can so i'll be able to give a proper review then. Anyone know if there rears are bolt on too? Would like to replace the cast iron Jspecs with the aluminum ls400 ones but i need to get new discs for them yet.
