eBay scammers - what's the point?

Spotted this scammer on eBay this morning.

  • £100 cheaper than current retail
  • Zero feedback
  • A username that is clearly just hitting random buttons.

I don't get what the point is, if anyone purchases from him then surely Paypal just seize the money back and refund you as soon as you raise a dispute when your item never arrives, so what's in it for the scammer?

What win?

The get a few £ in their Paypal account before Paypal takes it back?

Or do they somehow manage to scam Paypal too and keep it, or do they just want your details for some other reason?............

They can sell as much as they can within a certain window, then move all of the funds, close the eBay and PayPal accounts. Nothing you can do then.

Same happened to me last year, might be the same seller. 200 piece socket set for £100. He sold 5 or something and I had to wait three weeks to get my money back. I think they do it to get money for christmas until they get paid or just sell 10 in a week and leave the paypal in negative.
