SupraLEDrears
So I've had this problem since I bought the car. If I turn the ignition on, the alarm siren clicks. When I turn my lights on, the same thing happens and revs drop almost as much as when I turn AC on. The car is an NA-t and this has never been a problem but now I have no ICV and it's dipping my revs rather low and sometimes even stalls if I come to a stop and turn the steering wheel before the revs have stabilised electronically. The other way I know that there's something wrong, is because my oil gauges will read differently when I switch the lights on or off, going about 10-20 readings up when on. A few things about the car: Bought as an Na with this clicking issue Engine has been out twice for turbo conversion After rebuilds, it's still there. Never blows fuses Charging at about 13.9-14.2V and battery has never gone flat without me doing something stupid like leaving lights or heated seats on. Anyone ever had this problem? SupraLEDrears
Check earth straps, enfune to gearbox and both ti body, body to batt /QUOTE] Which ones are the earth straps? Body to batt is fine as I've just moved it to the back with same issue. Earths on intake manifold are clean and solid. Only one I've not checked is the one on gearbox but the gearbox has just been replaced 3 weeks ago.
Chris Wilson
There's an earth lead from battery to body shell and body shell to front of engine block. There isn't a separate one for the gearbox. I would have the charging system tested, it may have an alternator issue.

I shall also add that this happens when the car is off too.
Chris Wilson
Shake the wiring to the back of the alternator about a bit with the ignition on. Try adding a separate new ground from alternator to engine block.
