Mike2JZ
Things I would check: Whilst car is running, unplug each coil one at a time and see if noise goes away with an individual cylinder or not. Valve Clearance Check that there are no hot spots, oil build ups etc. Check shims are not slipping/weird angle Rotate crank manually with 22mm spanner with cam covers off and check for noise. Check for any damages to valve springs. Mechanic with an oscilloscope would be nice to check whilst car is driving. Loosen cambelt and check your adjustable cams are still tight when they have no tension from cambelt

rider
I assume.. you are using the right grade of oil! /QUOTE] When the recommended oils for the 2JZ engine was SAE 10W30 oils I do wonder why some prefer to use a 60 weight oil. ibby
Maybe what you are hearing a combination type of oil and more strain on the springs, valves.. shims Could need adjustment. Don't know mate.
Jellybean
I had 10W40 and 10W50 in there , 3 Supra specialists told me to use 10W60, oil is only in there 3 days
pedrosixfour
Were they ticking before the oil change mate? A 60 weight oil does seem a bit excessive for a BPU'd road car. Whether it could lead to the top-end noise you're describing is beyond my limited knowledge though.

Doh should have refreshed before posting!

Oil weight has no bearing on the noise , it occurred approx after 500-600 miles since work was carried out I always ran , 40/50 weight but three specialists said 60 weight ; I do not think oil is a factor
