David P
Very light wheels,I went 235/40 and 275/40 in the end. Michelin Pilot Sport 2 That's more like it. Could you admit that the ride and handling was worse when on 30's and dispel a few old wives?
Scooter
I only dispute the worse vs ruined statement, I can accept higher diameter wheels and lower profile tyres give worse traction, I've done tens of thousands of proud (non brown paper bagged) road miles on stock 16's and 17's. I have no axe to grind but 18's with lower profile tyres to maintain stock rolling radius doesn't ruin the handling, that's all.

Rear end was certainly more compliant on the high profile. Didn't notice a huge amount on the front end, though. Was more comfortable, and could get the power down better.
