Glanza_Mike
Hi everyone, With black Friday in a few days I've been thinking about changing my coilovers to something a bit better suited to my needs. I don't track my car and would just like something pretty comfortable with decent handling. I had a look through some old threads like this but the good ones are at least 2-3 years old so I just wanted to see what are people's opinions on this? I've always read kW v3 we're very good and a good friend recommended HKS hipermax gt. I don't really want to spend over a grand but will if everyone thinks the difference is worth it. Thanks. Thanks. loads will argue to see Chris Wilson on suspension setup, doubt you will get much change for a grand though but maybe worth dropping him an email. Your 19s wont be helping at all Mike, I'm tempted to go back to 18s or the same route as Jamie Fosta with the fat tyre on the back just so its comfortable. If he is looking at a KW3 kit I doubt price will come into it. Edited November 22, 2016 by Frank Bullitt (see edit history)

AndyJax
Dare I mention Tein ? Basic set is around £350 on Ebay and granted they do come in for a lot of flack from some people on here. But I have had Teins on my car for over 8 years with no issues. el_bandido
I've had 3 street cars with Meister-R coilovers on, I've gone for their GT1s for the supra and I've been impressed with every set so far. Very comfortable for coilovers too. Much better than Bilstein dampers in my opinion.

Thanks for all the CW votes so far, i'll have to send him an email and see how much he wants for this. I've heard good things before about this. Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers Do you also mean CW setup mate? Or some other Bilstein damper setup? If different do you have a link? thanks. Dare I mention Tein ? Basic set is around £350 on Ebay and granted they do come in for a lot of flack from some people on here. But I have had Teins on my car for over 8 years with no issues. I would consider Tein i guess but i've heard a lot of bad and also i've heard they rot pretty bad and i really despise rust lol I've had 3 street cars with Meister-R coilovers on, I've gone for their GT1s for the supra and I've been impressed with every set so far. Very comfortable for coilovers too. Much better than Bilstein dampers in my opinion. I actually had an old set of Meister-R on this car before and really liked how it drove, thanks for reminding me this is definitely something i would consider going back to Chris may think that Black Friday is a power cut whilst at the Pub. Marcus GTE
Switched to kw V3' s this year and they are great. You can set them soft and they still handle well. The rebound tuning helps also. They are night and day from the usual unrefined £600 range coilover suspension. In saying that, I've heard good things about CW's setups. Nodalmighty
Chris Wilson, can't go wrong with his set-up That's what I'm going for on Mine once the V8 is in.
j_jza80
I've also got OEM Bilsteins with eibach springs, which is great for a fast road setup. Will replace with CW Bilsteins when they need replacing.
ellis
CW gets my vote too. BC Racings are good, nicely adjustable. 19s will kill the ride hence my desire to get 18s
mplavery
Have Tein gone down hill then ? I have had my Tein coilovers for 10 years now and no issues what so ever
Glanza_Mike
Thanks for all the responses guys much appreciated. Is the CW setup height adjustable?
samdale
Can someone give a bit more info about the CW set up? I've even heard mention on here somewhere that they can be ride height adjustable? I want mine a little lower than stock but no firmer. I'm hesitant to buy lowering springs in case they are too low so would like adjustment so I can get it just right. Ride height currently is OK but advox coil overs that are fitted are way too firm
Wez
Thanks for all the responses guys much appreciated. Is the CW setup height adjustable? He can supply a height adjustable, custom setups or off the shelf to his spec, ie set and forget, best to have a chat with him as he doesnt like PMs
ellis
It's adjustable in as much as he sets it up to the height agreed before fitting then sets up all the geometry afterwards.
Marty
I have CW suspension on one of my supras, tein SS with edfc on the other. CWs are superior comfort wise, handling is pretty good too. The supra with teins handles better for sure, but that could be due to it having TRD roll bars and strut brace too. You can adjust the height of the CWs but only if they have the sleeves, plus you need to remove the suspension off the car to do so (i think?) The hipermax are meant to be good too
Dnk
Once they're set how many people actually adjust or even touch their suspension, not many i bet. Set platform at your desired height with a good progressive spring with a sensible spring rate is all you need with maybe adjustable damping Anything else for rd use is just overkill imo
