Noz
Having a play on a Saturday morning. This is a 370z engine cover. Haven't finished the front yet. Going to design my own billet version. Anyone got any ideas how this could be applied to some products for the Supra?

Noz
Fan shroud is fairly big. Might be super costly billet. Stalk covers is a good idea!
ripped_fear
Engine covers would be good like ocd stuff but they have provided some shocking service to members so would be good to have another alternative
Noz
That's a shame to hear. They've been an inspiration to a lot I've done already. Not always the gleaming image they portray then.

j_jza80
There are various billet stalk covers available for MX5s etc, and if theyre done subtly they look fantastic. Black anodized ones would be idea. For many people, the stalks are the only thing that lets their interior down, and theyre prohibitively expensive to replace (£300 ish iirc)

Just out of interest how much would it cost to get something that size chewed out of a single lump? I'm talking about the cost for the actual machining time and setup. Noz
To do a direct copy I've no idea. It's getting the finish right. I'm doing these to manufacture and sell. So can only estimate at this time.

Was just wondering about m/c from solid versus 3D printing. Which would probably be 4 figures for something like the engine cover.
Noz
It'll be like art. My aim is to produce affordable products. I'll absorb the cost as investment. I'm aiming to provide new engine artwork products at affordable prices because no one offers products like this at decent prices.

Kendo11
Something along these lines http://rat-look.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=12292&start=88 http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/yaf_postst46664_Billet-wiper-and-indicator-stalks.aspx Those are great ideas. Maybe not as much shine, but those are definitely something that'd update the interior massively.
j_jza80
Yeah, they'd be better anodized black. Heater control buttons would look great too.
Noz
Yeah, they'd be better anodized black. Heater control buttons would look great too. I've looked into heater buttons. I think those two items together would make a lush modern update for the supra.
