sean17650199
I was driving my car and started to accelerate out of a corner when it slowed down to a stop and wouldn't start again it turns over but just won't start. I put the looped wire in the diagnostic box and got error 14 any ideas of where I should start with this would be much appreciated, I believe its ignition related but I'm not all that clued up on this stuff. Mike2JZ
Can you manually check if you are missing fuel or ignition? Error 14 is an ignition error. Basically there is a signal that tells the ignition system when to fire, and when the ECU does not receive this it will make error 14 occur. Is your car NA or TT? Ric
Ignition error so start from the beginning. Distributor and cap/points, HT leads, plugs possibly borrow another Ignitor incase thats failed.
walkerstrider
Possibly ignition fuse?
sean17650199
I'll give all that a go first then where would be best place to buy a new ignitor I've had a search for a few of the things it might be but can't find some of the stuff, I was planning refreshing the stuff in the engine bay anyway so don't mind buying new stuff. I checked the fuse and changed it to try that changed a few others while I was at it too.
Nodalmighty
IGF - Broken igniter by the sound of it. You need to test the IGF wire between the ecu and the igniter for continuity also.
