jonny mac
hi guys, trying to setup my cams at the moment but I'm struggling to understand the cam gear sheet http://www.briancrower.com/makes/toyota/cam_card/bc_0331.pdf it says -1 ATDC intake open, surely this would be 1 degree before tdc? and the exhaust close -9 btdc? why have negative numbers? all I was hoping to get was a reading saying at such and such degree of crank rotation, the cam must be at full lift however, the sheet is only telling you when the camshaft should open/close, no center line for max lift? David P
-1 TDC = 1 degree before TDC.
jonny mac
-1 TDC = 1 degree before TDC. yeah, I get that however why would they have it like that? why not just say 1* btdc? instead of -1ATDC?

Chris Wilson
I suspect they are probably made in China, and we have all seen Chinese instructions.... Are they symmetric lobes? If so you can probably work out where full valve lift should occur.
