jim
Report says that the driver was rushed to hospital in a 'serious condition' after having to be cut out of the car. Hope he's ok, sadly another supra bites the dust. It looks like a Republic of Ireland registration plate and the car isn't familiar to me, any Irish/Northern Irish members recognise it or know the owner?? Conditions here at that time were good, it wasn't frosty or icy in Belfast even earlier on this morning, and that road is a 30mph limit. http://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/belfast-news/north-belfast-crash-leaves-fire-12161908

TuneR
Wow that looks very bad, hope hes ok. It looks familiar to me too but i think its because my old NA was that colour with those alloys. The detailed pics show GB on the side of the front plate...

mplavery
Jesus he must of been doing some speed, My guess its a 30mph limit too by the looks of things
np89
If its a genuine crash hope he pulls through! No details released as yet as to whether it was stolen or not.
ashloys
It's definitely a 30mph zone, although most of Belfast city centre has a 20mph limit too. Wouldn't surprise me if it was stolen tbh. Never seen the car around locally myself tbh. Can't tell in work from the pic and small pics, is it an NA or TT?
keron
ouch... looks like a na. seems like a 50+mph hit. hope the driver is ok
Darragh
If it wasn't stole then he must not have had it long and was showing off , it's sad to see and I was very surprised they got him out alive, I think I seen on bakebook that he has died but not sure if it's confirme yet
Pudsey
That's horrendous, certainly hope no one is injured. But doesn't look good judging by the fact the car hit the tree (looks like) on the side with no bark left, and wrapped around the tree finishing in that orientation. Some impact that, especially right on the driver, if it is a right hand drive of course. Dreadful
ashloys
He is confirmed dead, RIP

novak
That's terrible news....I am so sorry for him and his family. Let's not judge the guy, all of us have moments. Supra requires a lot of respect it is a rapid car.

np89
Was it stolen? /QUOTE] Not as far as the news report seems to suggest he was a genuine and well liked guy from the local area. Maybe just got caught out with the bad weather. Was icey enough early on and maybe just greasy by that stage.
np89
Bit of an Update guys, he took a heart attack at the wheel just before the crash. Poor lad like. Absolutely horrendous
Westy
Any news on who it was? Known on here? Just seen it on FB.
j_jza80
Maybe just got caught out with the bad weather. Was icey enough early on and maybe just greasy by that stage. There must have been speeding involved too, as Keron said there's no way that damage happened at 30. Although maybe he unintentionally sped up while having the heart attack. Whatever the circumstances, it's tragic for him and his loved ones, and at least there's some small consolation in that he probably didn't suffer, and no one else was involved. JasonR24
Shame to see the car like that and RIP to the owner. Glad no one else was hurt
np89
Hope that isnt fatal. That's a 30mph zone though and that crash, ice or no, is way over that speed. Lucky no one else was hurt driving like that He died mate. As far as ive been told theres no implications of any "bad driving". Think it was all circumstances and a chain of events following the heart attack
