Wonga Spar
Hi Fellas, So the Supra has been taken to a performance shop and is about to be indulged on the big-time. I'd love to hear some input/suggestions about what else to throw at her while she's in good hands. Current shopping list: Full custom exhaust replacement. Full service. Cambelt change. Rocker cover gasket. Dyno. Alloy refurb. Suspension refurb/adjustment. Would anybody make any additional recommendations if they'd just picked up a '95 NA/5 with low mileage? Considering LS300 brake upgrade, HID conversion (the current headlight visibility is INCREDIBLY bad), different seats (holy moly are they currently uncomfortable), steering wheel change (I kinda dig airbags). Would love to hear some thoughts!
Pete
All sounds sensible. I'd get all that done and then see how you feel about it. HIDs a good call this time of year. Getting the lenses machine polished may help to restore them and let the light through.
j_jza80
Guessing a full service will include replacement spark plugs? Definitely do this while the intake is removed to do the rocket gasket, as the spark plugs are a pain to do on an N.A. Its LS400 4 pot brakes that are an upgrade. They look like this: The earlier ls400 brakes aren't an upgrade, and the later ls400 4 pots don't fit, so make sure you get the right ones (and suitable discs) A gen7 Celica wheel fits, and the airbag is plug and play if you buy an adapter from Toyota. These wheels are also sound in mk3 mr2s, is200 etc. - - - Updated - - - Guessing a full service will include replacement spark plugs? The Celica wheel was my go-to choice as I drive one at the moment and the seats/wheel are fantastic. Have enquired about the adaptor but might have to buy straight from Toyota. j_jza80
People have adapted gen7 seats to fit a supra before, but some welding is likely required. The frames on the stock seats can't be adapted to take aftermarket seats, so your best bet is to buy a set of used seats and frames if they come up for sale, though this doesn't happen a lot. Bride make universal seat rails for our cars which are the best solution, but these aren't cheap.
tooquicktostop
I would forget the dyno and put it towards new headlights
Wonga Spar
I would forget the dyno and put it towards new headlights The dyno is complimentary since I'm spending a hefty chunk of money. It's also a black car and I'm unsold on facelift headlights on black Supras. They're also crazzzyyyyy money!
