Built myself a carport

As the Supra is tucked away nicely in the garage, me and the missis thought it would be nice to have a carport for the 350Z too

As I have NEVER built anything before apart from some flat pack furniture I thought I would give it a go ourselves :D..

So I watched loads of YouTube vids getting hints and tips in how to do one, ordered all the wood from Travis Perkins then me, Vicki, My Dad and uncle set off to build it

I must admit I did enjoy doing it though we felt pushed to finish it before the bad weather really hit us. There still some silly bits to do like painting it and putting lights up etc but over all were all impressed how well it went. Of course there are things we have learned during the build we would do differently next time, like We could of used cheaper smaller beams in places but over all its bloody solid lol

Its just under 8 meters long

What do you think

Great job :) I want one as I have no garage. Do you mind me asking what sort of £ you spent on it?

No not at all, like I said I could of saved on wood as I don't think the roof beams needed to be that heavy duty plus I could of bought rough instead of smooth finish wood

I paid £950 for everything.. wood, roof, brackets, sealant's etc ...the roof panels were expensive, I did not want to get the cheap stuff as I know they look crapy after a year ... think it was £35 per sheet and I think I had about 11/12 sheets

mine is longer then a normal size carport though .. its just under 8 meters long

Definitely very handy to have that's for sure. Might get some more fluorescent lighting like I have done in the garage so you can do work under there too

In the summer I think im going to extend it to the garage so I can get a few bikes under there with it being too cramped
