Whining sound from engine bay video

Take the AUX belt off, if the noise stops you know its a pulley or one of the parts driven by it, water pump,

a/c pump, viscous fan or the belt tensioner pulley.

If its still there look elsewhere :)

Do the tipex test on the crank pulley

Does the noise come and go as you switch the ac on and off ? if so then it looks like the pump

could well be where the problem is.

The tipex test on the cp is where you draw a line across the cp, if the cp is beginning to fail the line will

split into 2

Yes the noise come and go as i switch the ac on and off

I suspect its the ac clutch / bearing

Do you ise your ac ?

If not maybe worth running it to see if it frees up

/QUOTE]

Yes i use it a lot mostly on rainy days its only thing which can save my windscreen from fog it up

Ok I'll suggest something. I took all my intake pipework off once to paint, when I put it back, I had like a whistling/weird sound coming from the engine everytime I hit the accelarator. Turned out that I forgot to put on the bottom two nuts on the throttle body near the exhaust manifold. Check all nuts/bolts are nice and tight.
