Asim
Hi guys, I'm new to this site and I've spent all morning on my first day off in ages reading about the pro's and con's of installing an Apexi Power Intake on my 93' NA Jap Import Supra ( how sad is that !!! ) and well after reading all the opinions posted here I've decided to .... Not get one !!! Is that the right decision? When I first got my car I thought damn this is fast, but now it's not fast enough !!! I bought it with a 5-Zigen exhaust already on it, but after coming off a steep driveway, the rear box has broken off and I can't find any welders that can repair it, let alone anyone that can replace it !!! The tyres also need changing, the old ones are Bridgestones S02's F-235/45/17 R-265/55/17 ( it came with 17" UK spec' alloys ). Do you all recommend Bridgestones? Coz I tried Dunlops on the front and they stuck like glue! But, they wore very quickly. Any tips/advice will be appreciated. Cheers Asim
Nathan
I can offer you an HKS Hiper Muffler and optional HKS (De-cat)frontpipe if you want, as well as an HKS induction kit. Fitted loads of them and not one complaint. MAny people wil lsay that the induction kit will give a real nice induction noise if nothing else, and thats enough for some people. The above will certainly give more power than stock, not sure how it would compare to your 5 Zigen but I'll doubt it's any worse than one with a dirty great 'ole in it.. Asim
Thanks for your reply Nathan. That sounds good, do you have Apexi equivalents ? Also, one question that no one seems to answer though is, what impact does an aftermarket air intake have on the airflow meter? Cheers Asim
Nathan
Hi Asim, No, we do not have APEXI equivalents simply because we do not need to. The only APEXI part we keep is the AVC-R and even then I try not to sell them because I'm not happy with the solonoids. Still, if people want them knowing my opinion thats up to them. As for the impact of the HKS filter on the airflow meter, there is none. Who doesn't seem to answer?! Theres certainly no history of MK4 AFM's going dodgy from ANY aftermarket filter AFAIK. I thought I would have heard of it if there was... Regards, Nathan TDI PLC
