US presidential election

Just thought I'd see if anyone has any predictions for what is bound to be one of the worst and weirdest political campaigns in history?

In the blue corner, we have a billionaire, mysoginistic, xenophobic, cretin. In the red corner, a corrupt, war mongering, establishment lackey, drone strike enthusiast.

May the least worst man/woman win.

Personally, I think Clinton is just going to edge it. But I think there is going to be a big 'silent trump' vote, and that it will be very close.

Clinton has it paid for.

True, and I only read the other day that apparently the Democrats have 4x the funding of the republicans.

But... in the EU referendum, remain had double the budget, the government, the majority of parliament, civil service, big business, the banks, most heads of state around the world etc in in their corner, and they still lost.

I think I want Clinton to win, but to be fair the only way politicians around the world are going to get shaken out of their apathy is with dramatic examples, like Brexit, so in that respect I would probably prefer Trump to win.

It's just mind boggling that in tbis supposedly enlightened age, the candidates are that bad.

I found it interesting reading about the Clinton email thing. The report I heard said that during the initial investigation her legal team reviewed the 60,000 odd emails and handed 30,000 to the FBI.

Anyone else think this an incredibly stupid thing for the FBI to accept?

I wouldn't trust that disclosure. I wonder if they now have all the emails which would likely have more damnig evidence.

Not sure if the whole trust issue is enough to swing it for Trump though.

I just want America to be great again.... :D

Although I do feel like Clinton will start world war 3 with Putin.

On the flip side my impression of trump whilst he may not have the experience in politics his intentions seem more focused towards a more open traded and business friendly United States,he also seems more capable of mending ties with Russia instead of all the crappy war tit for tat posturing.

An Asshole maybe.. good for business rather than war more than likely.

There is something shady about Clinton that we are not being told.

Clinton is just a puppet being run by the bankers and other people that have her on their payroll.

Trump has some extreme views but probably won't be able to pass half the stuff he says he wants to as it takes more people than just him to approve changes etc.

So as a lesser of 2 evils, I'd say Trump will make less of a mess than Clinton.....but Clinton will win

Her entire system was wiped using BleachBit as the emails were of a "personal nature", those outstanding 30,000 emails have been wiped off the face of the earth and aren't retrievable...ever! Makes you wonder what she was trying to hide. So if she wins not only will she be the 1st female President but also the 1st President to win whilst also under FBI investigation.

To clarify, I think Clinton and/or whatever corporate interests are backing her have paid for a fix, not that the size of her campaign funding has secured it. American policy on every front is determined almost exclusively by corporate dictatorship. I've said elsewhere that it would not surprise me if Trump had been paid to run and then make himself unelectable a week or so before the vote.

If it was all so nicely wrapped and paid for by Clinton with the establishment and media how come the FBI have popped up again days before the vote to slash her lead? Aren't the FBI part of the establishment? It's mind boggling. Especially given that they cleared her 12 months ago

The biggest tragedy is that whoever wins, the disenfranchised working class people of America will be ignored yet again. It's easy to poke fun at them for siding with Trump, but as Trump said to the black voter group "what have you got to lose?" They have NOTHING to lose, and will have NOTHING after the vote.

Trump beats Clinton in the polls for the first time in quite a while

He's still at a disadvantage, but this certainly has the makings of a 'photo finish' race.

God help the world, whatever happens :D
