SupraLEDrears
Hi guys I was driving on the m62 yesterday and when I turned the radio down, I heard a clunking noise. Pulled over on the hard shoulder and could hear it better outside the car. The car can still drive, has every gear with no issues but makes that horrible sound that only goes away when i press the clutch. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Some said check flywheel bolts, others have said collapsed bearings. Also will any local gearbox specialist be able to change the bearings? It's the mkiv w58. Thanks
stevie_b
Not sure about a clunking noise: bearings make a rumble when they're worn. Yes, any gearbox specialist should be able to do the work.
