Big Mark
Anyone got any pics of where they've fitted your Toucan? I'm considering sinking mine into the dash but guess the only place to do this is up where the clock is?
j_jza80
I spent a lot of time getting mine right, as I wanted as near to factory look as possible. I think it's worked out pretty well be aware that the toucan displays are terrible for glare, so if you're bothered about looking at it while driving, mount it accordingly. berg
I like this one, would prob do similar although id want to keep the vent

Big Mark
I agree Berg. I like how that one is sunken into the dash quite far but also I'd want to keep my vent. I only just got it back after changing Boost gauges so definitely not going to lose it again.
bayside_supra
I was planning on putting mine where the clock was and keeping the vent
Hemanhead
If you want no glare then mount it in the R/H vent. Personally I dont want to see it atall, so I shall route it to the glove box as I only generally leave it in high boost anyway.

Wouldnt it be alot easier and cheaper to just use a CAL switch for switching maps then? Doesnt make sense to buy this and hide it and not look at it lol

But Toucan gives you full gauge displays, including peak hold, and allows for a pin lockable immobiliser or valet map. Even out of sight, you can is superior to CLA switches. Guest Budz86
It can be a very distracting thing to have in the cabin, I'm forever playing with it while driving! But it is also a very useful bit of kit both for map switching and locking the maps. Also it helps with fault finding and generally keeping an eye on things without having to plug in a laptop. When I was bedding in my new clutch I set it to sound an alarm if I hit more than 0.5 bar just so I wasn't constantly thinking about it, and it also has visual warnings whilst the car is warming up so I know when I can boot it! Lol
Sheefa
Mines on the right side on the ignition panel. No glare, easy use (passenger doesn't know what map I'm on ) and near and tidy.
bayside_supra
It would be annoying to loose a vent though. What about an anti glare screen protector on it? They always worked well for me on headunits

By the time you will notice something is wrong, its usually too late anyway
uzzyuzzy
Here is the location of mine but I would not recommend it because with the sun shining from the right it is difficult to see the display on the screen. Furthermore with night time driving it reflects on the driver’s side door mirror and makes it harder to see.
Spunkmeyer
Can't you lay an anti glare on top and cut to the screen?
a98pmalcolm
Mine is in the dash also Edited January 20, 2017 by a98pmalcolm (see edit history)
j_jza80
That looks well done shame you have to lose the vent though.

tooquicktostop
If I was to fit one now I would consider putting in place of the stereo, this could be moved to the glovebox (I only listen to talksport or music from my iphone anyway)

a98pmalcolm
That looks well done shame you have to lose the vent though. Thanks but. But to be honest the vent there just isn't needed. You can cover the clock only like others have but then your stalks cover the screen as I found out. Not a massive deal but bugged the hell out of me lol

I was strongly advised against the Bluetooth module, by many, many people.
bayside_supra
Just so you guys know, the anti glare screen protector on mine has worked a treat. I bought an iPad one and cut it to size. No glare at all.
j_jza80
Thanks Could you do me a favour and post a link to the product you used? Would rather get a tried and tested one than one that doesn't work
