Bob
Heard bad things about lightened crank pulleys - something to do with not being dampened or somesuch thing - can shorten the life of the engine. On the celicas, the underdrive pulleys would cause vibrations that would eventually cause the oil pump to die horribly.
uk-rich
these pulleys are not really underdrive, they are the same size, but as they are made from aluminium are much lighter, and take less effort for the engine to turn them, like a light weight flywheel
gregsupra4
Hi all, We have fitted these to both mine and Samsupra37s cars and fingers crossed they seem to be fine. Not done that many miles yet so much to early to tell. Will post if any problems come up.
Guest Terry S
........harmonics........... I an a Unorthodox Racing one for years without a problem, but thats more luck than judgement maybe.......
JohnA
It's not just harmonics, there are all sort of weird stresses applied on these pulleys, that sloppily-designed (and perhaps machined) units may not sustain for long. And if they really *are* underdrive, then I'd wonder if the battery/alternator/electrical/PAS systems are really all that over-specced from the factory. They also claim 5-8bhp gains, which is a cloud coockoo-land estimate [/victor meldrew]
